Number of Ukrainian tourists on agent market grows

Over 2.5 million Ukrainian citizens used services of Ukrainian travel agents and tour agencies within 2016 ( up 25% against 2015) as well as 35,000 foreign tourists (up 2.3 times), NRCU says referring to Amadeus Ukraine press service report.
As to the report, for most of them (85%) tourism was the main goal.
As to Amadeus Ukraine, referring to data of the Ukrainian State Statistics Service, within 2016, 3,506 entities involved in travel business were registered, 80% of them are travel agents (individual businessmen) and 20% are companies.
«Despite the economic and political factors, the sector saw growth within 2016: a total of 324 new entities were registered within the year. The number of travel agencies employees, both at companies and individual businessmen is 10,412 people,» the report reads.
It is to be admitted, Amadeus is the leading Ukrainian provider of IT solutions to the global tourism and travel industry. Its solutions process transactions and operations of travel agencies, airlines, hotels, railway, ship, ferry, car rent operators, and other service providers within the industry.
