As of today, within his working trip to Kharkiv, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has visited the PJSC «Tractor Plant of Kharkiv», President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
As to the report, while speaking to the Plant staff, the President said Ukraine has powerful machine-building companies and now it is time to modernize and develop them for the output of high-quality and competitive goods.
«Ukraine is a machine-building state. It is time to remind the whole world about that,» he stressed.
The President reminded that within 2016, the Ukrainian economy started demonstrating growth, particularly within the IV quarter - by 4.7%.
As to the President, a vivid example of this growth is the resumption of functioning of the Tractor Plant of Kharkiv.
As to him, the new investor who received support from the authorities of the State and region, has not only paid the arrears to the staff, but also invested
UAH150 million into the procurement of components. The beginning of the Plant functioning had a positive influence on the other companies within the industry, as 80% of components are produced by related businesses. This provides jobs not only to 2 thousand Kharkiv residents who work at the Plant, but also to dozens of thousands of mechanical engineers supplying these components.
Also, the President paid special attention to the necessity of overtaking new markets for the Ukrainian products. As to him, the output boost raises budgetary revenues. Thus, within Jan 2016, Ukraine collected UAH30 milliard of taxes and (up to the preliminary data) this figure equaled UAH68 milliard within Jan 2017.
«It is the evidence of unshadowing. The economy has not grown twice, no matter how hard we tried. But the money earlier transferred to the corrupt channels is now directed to the State budget, works for the defense and security, development and boost of social welfare of people,» he noted.
