"Within 2015, the Ukrainian Agro-Industrial Complex has managed to reach an almost impossible result - to assure complete redirecting of its foreign trade from the large market of the Russian Federation to the markets of Asia, EU and Africa. It has been proved by the official statistics," Government Portal reports quoting the Oleksiy Pavlenko, the Ukrainian Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, as speaking.
As to the Minister, the top 5 countries with the largest share in the total trade turnover of Ukrainian agricultural products were China - 7.2% (US$1.3 milliard), India - 6.5% (US$1.2 milliard), Egypt - 5.7% (US$1 milliard), Turkey - 5.3% (US$993.4 million) and Spain - 5.3% (US$987.2 million).
Thus, within 12 months of 2015, the total amount of foreign trade turnover of Ukrainian agricultural products reached US$18.5 milliard (of which export accounted for US$14.8 milliard and import - US$3.7 milliard).
«We have completed the year 2015 with an unexpected performance - that is, rapid growth of export to Asia, new markets’ opening and reaching of the surplus which exceeds the previous year similar. This statistics reflects not only our victories but also the prospects and directions for development,» Pavlenko concluded.
