The Ukrainian state and government-guaranteed debt in the hryvnia equivalent stood at UAH1.572 trillion as of Dec 31, 2015 (42.78% or UAH 470.932 milliard up against Jan 01, 2015, UNIAN says referring to the Ukrainian Finance Ministry report.
As to the report, the state and government-guaranteed US$ debt at the end 2015 was US$65.488 milliard (6.19% or US$4.324 milliard down against the early 2015).
Reportedly, within Dec 2015 alone, Ukrainian state and government-guaranteed US$ debt rose by 0.52% (or US$338 million), and the debt estimated in the hryvnia equivalent boosted by 1.01% (or UAH15.573 milliard).
The report admits the debt in the US$ equivalent shrank due to the successful restructuring and write-off of Ukrainian foreign debt.
At the same time, the growth of UAH debt was caused by the weakening of the national currency.
However, at the same time, the Ministry stresses that as of the end of 2015, the actual amount of Ukrainian state debt was within the limits allowed by the country’s 2015 national budget.
