Ukrainian dairy market

Within reporting week some dairy products’ prices on Ukrainian domestic market have declined — as Ukrainian producers, being urged by their ready products’ unsold reserves growth, continued to low their sale prices on domestic market in order to equal them with export market ones. This situation has been formed by global market tendency, domestic market low demand and domestic raw milk output being high due to seasonality factor. At same time, within this week Ukrainian dairy products faced strong competition on export market — what has reduced Ukrainian dairy products’ lots and prices. On domestic market, demand for dairy products (esp. for high quality ones) has much slackened due to Ukrainian population paying capacity decline and prices’ growth. At same time, within this week Ukrainian domestic raw milk output has almost reached its seasonal high.
Thus, within this week Ukrainian domestic market SMP prices have declined to UAH39–43 per kg (down 3.53% as of last week/down 13.96% as of last month similar); export market SMP prices were US$1,500–1,580 per MT (unchanged as of last week/down 6.10% against previous month similar).
Experts admit Ukrainian domestic/export markets’ prices decline has been caused mainly by dairy products’ unsold reserves growth on Ukrainian producers’ warehouses, dairy products’ domestic high output and low domestic/export markets’ demand. Besides, prices were also pressed down by Ukrainian export sale rates’ lowing.
As earlier, within this week Ukrainian home market WMP prices remained UAH45,5–50 per kg (unchanged as of last week); external market WMP prices were US$2,250–2,400 per MT (same as within previous week).
As of previous, within this week Ukrainian WMP output continued actively boosting due to seasonality factor; however, at same time, Ukrainian domestic market WMP demand remained traditionally low.
It is to be admitted, within this week Ukrainian WMP export to Middle Asia countries was growing up.
In meanwhile, this week Ukrainian domestic market block butter (72.5% fat, DSTU) prices have fallen to UAH40–42,5 per kg (down 5.17% against previous week/down 15.21% as of previous month similar); export market block butter (72.5% fat, DSTU) prices were US$2,100–2,400 per MT (unchanged against previous week/down 8.42% against previous week). Experts admit Ukrainian domestic/export markets’ prices have declined mainly due to domestic butter output high rates and domestic/export markets’ low demand.
It is to be mentioned, within this week Ukrainian producers tried to boost their export market butter sales — what has slightly reduced pressure on domestic market butter prices.
Within reporting week Ukrainian domestic market cheese prices remained UAH72–78 per kg (same as within previous week); export market prices were US$3,400–4,000 per MT (unchanged as of last week).
As earlier, within this week Ukrainian cheese producers preferred to accumulate their ready products on warehouses, but didn’t agree to decline their sale prices.
As of this week, Ukrainian export cheese market situation remained unchanged — Ukrainian cheese export offer faced high foreign competition.
In meanwhile, this week Ukrainian domestic market casein prices have declined to UAH105–110 per kg (down 3.15% against previous week/down 12.24% as of last month similar); export market prices have lowed to US$4,300–4,700 per MT (down 1.10% as of last week/down 13.46% against previous month similar).
As of previous, within this week Ukrainian domestic casein market offer continued growing; at same time, Ukrainian export casein market European countries’ demand remained low.
In meanwhile, this week Ukrainian domestic market demineralized whey prices have sagged to UAH11,80–12,50 per kg (down 2.02% against previous week/down 11.64% as of last month similar); export market prices have declined to US$435–500 per MT (down 2.09% as of last week/down 12.04% as of previous month similar).
Simultaneously, within this week Ukrainian domestic market classic whey prices were UAH10,00–10,30 per kg (unchanged against previous week/down 14.71% as of last month similar); export market prices fluctuated within US$400–410 per MT (same as within previous week/down 10.00% against previous month similar).
As earlier, within this week purchasers’ activity on Ukrainian domestic whey market remained low; at same time, export market sale rates remained weak due to global market whey low prices.
Within reporting week Ukrainian inner market GOST canned milk prices ranged within UAH11,8–14,0 per can (380 gr), unchanged as of last week.
