Ukrainian Market

Sunflower

Within reporting week domestic sunseeds market activity remained low mainly due to Ukrainian territory having been recently dominated by very low air temperature.

Within this week market competition between Ukrainian sunseeds processors remained as earlier tough. It is possible to suggest that processors competition will result in country domestic market sunseeds purchase prices near future growth (especially when taking into account that domestic sunseeds owners are now quite reluctant to make any sales as they anticipate for prices further growth).

Within reporting week EXW basis sunseeds purchase prices ranged within UAH3,150–3,350 per MT (for middlemen) and UAH3,500–3,650 per MT (for agricultural producers).

As of this week, CPT basis sunseeds purchase prices fluctuated within UAH3,700–3,900 per MT (for agricultural producers) and UAH3,350–3,550 per MT (for middlemen).

Within reporting week traders have grown ports sunseeds purchase prices up to UAH3,400 per MT (excl. VAT); however, there was no trade in this market segment as processors offered purchase prices up against traders similar.

Within this week sunseeds nominal export prices ranged within US$525–530 per MT (FOB Black Sea ports).

Sunoil, sun.pell

Within this week Ukrainian sunoil export prices have (first time within this year) exceeded US$1,100 per MT. However, this price has been soon changed: Ukrainian soyoil and palm oil markets have (due to fundamental factors) started to press down Ukrainian sunoil export prices. As a result, export prices have (as of Jan 31/12) declined as low as within previous week.

In meanwhile, within reporting week Ukrainian sunoil export demand prices ranged within US$1,080–1,085 per MT (FOB Black Sea ports, Feb 2012  shipments); export offer prices were US$1,090–1,095 per MT (FOB Black Sea ports, Feb 2012 shipments).

Within reporting week Ukrainian domestic sunoil market has strengthened.

As of this week, producers declared UAH9,250–9,450 per MT (EXW) sunoil domestic sale prices.

Within this week Ukrainian sun.pell export market remained stable. Thus, DAF Belarus basis export prices ranged within US$164–169 per MT (DAF Poland - US$158–163).

On FOB Black Sea ports basis, this week Ukrainian sun.pell export prices ranged within US$155–165 per MT.

In meanwhile, within reporting week Ukrainian domestic market sun.pell prices remained stable (UAH1,200–1,350 per MT) due to high offer; at same time, this week domestic market sunseeds meal prices ranged within UAH1,000–1,300 per MT.
